QUETTA: The Balochistan government has imposed Section 144 for 30 days, banning public gatherings across the province. ARY News reported the order on Thursday.
According to the notification cited by the broadcaster, the restrictions cover sit-ins, rallies and protests and also ban face coverings and veils in public places. The order directs law enforcement agencies and district administrations to enforce the restrictions.
Separately, Islamabad’s administration told the channel that its own Section 144 order prohibits gatherings of any kind.

National Highways and Motorway Police said closures in both directions would begin on Wednesday evening along these routes:
- M-1: Islamabad Toll Plaza to Chachh Interchange.
- M-14: Hakla to Kundal.
- GT Road, N-5: At Attock Khurd.
The federal government has also planned mobile phone and internet suspensions in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Attock. Its report gave Saturday and Sunday as the planned dates. The measures are being taken around Islamabad ahead of a possible Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) long march that was expected to reach the capital on Sunday.
