The Board of Revenue has notified Balochistan’s new districts and divisions, raising the province’s administrative divisions to 11 and its districts to 41, under cabinet decisions.
According to the notification, Quetta has been divided into the Quetta East and Quetta West districts for administrative purposes.
Sariab, Saddar and City subdivisions will fall under Quetta East. Kuchlak, Barori and Punjpai will come under Quetta West.
Quetta Division will now comprise three districts after Mastung was shifted from Kalat Division to Quetta Division.
The notification also created the Pishin Division. It includes Pishin, Barshor, Qilla Abdullah and Chaman, while the existing Pishin district has been divided into Pishin and Barshor. Wadh has been made a new district after separation from Khuzdar.

Kalat Division has been dissolved and replaced by Khuzdar and Lasbela divisions. Khuzdar Division will include Khuzdar, Kalat, Surab and Wadh, while Lasbela Division will include Lasbela, Hub and Awaran.
Dera Bugti and Barkhan districts have also been divided. North Dera Bugti and South Dera Bugti will now function as separate districts.
Sibi district has been renamed Siwi, and a new Siwi Division has been formed with Siwi, South Dera Bugti and Kachhi districts.
The notification also created Koh-e-Suleman Division, comprising Rakhni, Barkhan and North Dera Bugti.
