QUETTA, Balochistan: Balochistan IBOs killed at least nine militants in Ziarat, Harnai and Surab on Tuesday, according to security sources.
Security forces launched the operations under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-3 after receiving intelligence about militant movements, the sources said.
Eight militants were killed in a mountainous area between Ziarat and Harnai. Security forces also destroyed their reported hideout during the operation.
In Surab district, forces killed another militant near Hajika village. The troops had tracked movement between Dasht Katai and Hajika before the engagement.

Security personnel recovered ammunition, magazines, hand grenades, walkie-talkies, a motorcycle and other equipment, according to the reports.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces and said counterterrorism operations would continue. The supplied report says recent operations have also taken place in Kharan, Panjgur and other Balochistan districts.
Centre for Research and Security Studies data says Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa accounted for nearly 96% of violence-related fatalities in Pakistan during the second quarter of 2026.
