Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Adviser Ihtisham Ali condemned the blast, expressing grief and ensuring that medical support was provided to the injured. An emergency was declared at Bajaur hospitals, with staff alerted for first aid. KP government spokesperson Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif called the loss of lives “regrettable” and confirmed Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s orders for an inquiry and enhanced medical facilities. Saif vowed that “hostile elements” would face justice, signalling robust action against perpetrators.
Bajaur, near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, has faced recurrent militant attacks, including a 2023 suicide bombing that killed 54 at a JUI-F rally. The region’s proximity to conflict zones and past TTP and ISIL activities heightens its vulnerability. Recent security efforts, including border fencing, have reduced attacks by 70%. However, incidents like this underscore the ongoing challenges. No group has claimed responsibility for the July 2025 blast, but investigations continue.
