Attock Petroleum has announced a Rs5 discount per litre on petrol at its company-operated fuel stations in Pakistan.
The company said the discount is aimed at easing pressure on consumers facing higher fuel costs.
The relief will apply only at Attock Petroleum’s company-operated petrol pumps. The discount will not be available at dealer-operated stations, according to the company’s clarification.
Attock Petroleum operates about 45 fuel stations across Pakistan, mostly in major cities and along motorway routes.
The company-operated outlets are marked separately from dealer-run stations. Petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan are regulated, with oil companies barred from selling above the notified rates.
High-octane fuel prices remain deregulated and vary among companies. In some areas, high-octane prices have reached between Rs500 and Rs600 per litre. High-octane prices had previously risen to around Rs600 per litre after an increase in levy.
They said prices later moved lower after a reduction by global energy company Aramco increased market competition.
