TARBELA: Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir called for sustained training and stronger operational readiness during a visit to Special Services Group headquarters on Thursday.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Munir received a briefing on the Special Services Group’s (SSG) specialised training, operational preparedness and readiness for assigned missions.
He inspected a display of advanced equipment and watched personnel demonstrate their combat skills, agility and precision during special operations.
Speaking to officers and soldiers, Munir stressed that regular training and developing indigenous capabilities were essential to respond to evolving security threats.
He called for an “uncompromising focus on operational preparedness” to maintain the force’s effectiveness against emerging challenges.

Munir praised SSG personnel for their professionalism, morale and dedication to duty. During the visit, the field marshal laid a floral wreath at the martyrs’ memorial and paid tribute to personnel who had lost their lives in service.
In September, Munir visited Quetta Garrison, where he reaffirmed the military’s focus on peace and security in Balochistan.
He said a stable security environment could support development initiatives, economic opportunities and better prospects for residents. Munir also commended the troops’ professional standards and operational readiness during that earlier visit.
