Ariana Grande’s Petal debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 295,000 equivalent album units, giving the singer her seventh chart-topping album.
The opening marked Grande’s biggest week by equivalent album units this decade. It also delivered her strongest pure album sales week in more than 10 years, behind only the 169,000-copy debut of My Everything in 2014.
Vinyl accounted for 96,000 copies, setting a new career-best vinyl week for Grande. The figure also ranked as the fifth-largest vinyl sales week of 2026, according to the supplied source.
Petal was released in multiple formats, including 10 vinyl variants, five CD editions, two cassette versions and more than 10 digital editions with bonus material.
The 12-track album contains no featured artists. Its lead single, “Hate That I Made You Love Me,” became Grande’s ninth No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 when it topped the chart in June.
Grande’s seventh Billboard 200 leader puts her level with Janet Jackson and Lady Gaga for the fifth-most No. 1 albums among solo women in the chart’s history. Taylor Swift, Barbra Streisand, Madonna and Beyoncé remain ahead.
