CUPERTINO, California: The Apple foldable iPhone is expected to debut at the company’s September 9 event, with new estimates putting its US starting price between $2,099 and $2,299.
Apple has officially scheduled its “Surprise and shine” event for 10 a.m. Pacific Time on September 9, but has not confirmed that a foldable iPhone will appear or that it will carry the widely reported “iPhone Ultra” name.
TrendForce estimates that higher-storage versions could exceed $3,000, potentially making the foldable Apple’s most expensive iPhone. The research firm also expects iPhone 18-series pricing to face upward pressure from sharply higher memory costs.
Current industry reports point to a 5.5-inch outer OLED display and 7.8-inch folding inner OLED screen, with a book-style design and a profile of about 4.5mm when unfolded. Rumoured specifications include an A20 Pro processor, 12GB RAM and storage options from 256GB to 2TB.
The device is also expected to use Touch ID on the side button instead of Face ID and to feature two 48-megapixel rear cameras covering wide and ultra-wide focal lengths. None of those specifications has yet been confirmed by Apple.

The September event will be Apple’s first major iPhone launch since John Ternus became chief executive officer on September 1, succeeding Tim Cook, who is now Apple’s executive chairman.
