Anmol Pinky court appearance in Karachi drew attention after the narcotics case accused alleged outside court that police forced false statements from her and subjected her to violence.
The accused claimed that officials asked her to name someone from Bani Gala. She also alleged she had been picked up from Lahore 22 days earlier and taken to a house where drugs were already hidden.
Pinky shouted in court about violence against her. It also claimed a police officer covered her mouth in front of the media while trying to stop her from speaking.
Videos and posts circulating on social media amplified the allegations. However, there has been no official response from the Sindh Police, nor have there been court findings on the claims.
Dr Shama Junejo alleged in a post that police first covered Pinky’s mouth and then pressed it down. She said Sindh Police would face responsibility if Pinky died.
Ahmad Hassan Bobak posted that Pinky had accused officials of forcing her to say she delivered supplies to Bani Gala. He linked the claim to the alleged political targeting of Imran Khan.
Journalist and TV host Matiullah Jan also questioned whether Sindh Police had forced Pinky to name people in Bani Gala. He asked whether the Sindh government or police owed a clarification.
