EL SEGUNDO, California: The Angel Reese Barbie doll went on sale in the United States on July 24 for $37.80, featuring a pink uniform and miniature Reebok shoes.
Mattel said Target would exclusively carry the doll in its physical stores. Customers can also order it online through Target, Walmart, Amazon and the Mattel Shop.
The collectable depicts Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese in a pink basketball uniform with leggings, a headband and Reebok Angel Reese 1 shoes. It also includes a basketball, display stand and certificate of authenticity.
Reese called the doll a dream come true. She said she hoped it would encourage girls to embrace their identities and pursue their ambitions with confidence.
The design references the “Bayou Barbie” nickname Reese earned while playing college basketball for the LSU Tigers.
