Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain condemned the killing of party worker Sikandar Ali in custody and demanded the high-ups for inquiry into the extrajudicial assassination, on Wednesday.
He solicited Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Director General (DG) Lieutenant General Rizwan Akhtar and federal interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan for the investigation into the extrajudicial killing of party worker Sikandar Ali. He also clamored for registration of a case against police officers and personnel involved in the assassination.
Altaf Hussain asserted, “None has the right to kill an arrested person in custody instead of producing him before the court. The PPP has appointed such officers that are notorious for their barbarity and brutality.”
The Muttahida chief remarked that these officers were tasked in Karachi to for extrajudicial targeted killings of the MQM workers.
The Muttahida activists are being picked and disappeared, and thus the MQM is being subjected to political victimization, he added.
