Islamabad: Sher Afzal Marwat has filed an Ali Amin Gandapur petition in the Federal Constitutional Court, seeking restoration of the former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister.
The petition asks the court to declare Gandapur’s resignation unconstitutional and void. It also challenges the de-notification of Gandapur as chief minister.
Marwat argued that the resignation was obtained under pressure and therefore lacked legal validity. The petition claimed the resignation was taken at the direction of a convicted and disqualified person.
The petition also seeks the cancellation of the notification appointing Sohail Afridi as the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It asks the court to restore Gandapur to the office.

The applicant further pleaded that all official decisions made as a result of what he called unconstitutional measures should be declared null and void. The court has yet to issue a ruling on the petition.
