The ISPR stated that the launch aimed to ensure troop readiness and verify technical parameters, including the missile’s cutting-edge navigation system. Senior officials, including the Army Strategic Forces Command (AFSC) commander, alongside Strategic Plans Division representatives, scientists, and engineers, observed the test.

The test follows heightened tensions after the April 22, 2025, Pahalgam attack in Indian-occupied Kashmir, which killed 26 people.
