At least 16 people were injured when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) fitted to a motorbike exploded outside a food outlet in Rawalpindi on Thursday evening.
According to details, at least 16 people were injured, five them critically including a girl, when an IED device exploded outside a food outlet situated on College Road.
It is suspected that the blast was allegedly carried out by the extortionists who in the past had demanded money from owners of the food outlet and even also carried out a cracker blast outside their house a few months back.
Following the explosion, a heavy contingent of law enforcement personnel, including police, Bomb Disposal Squad rescuers and fire brigade, rushed to the site and cordoned off the area.
