Basima, Balochistan: Security forces killed 14 terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in the Naal area of Basima district, the Inter-Services Public Relations said.
Lance Havildar Muhammad Abbas embraced martyrdom during the operation, the military’s media wing said Tuesday.
ISPR said security forces launched the operation on June 8 after receiving intelligence about a planned attack on a police station and banks. The statement said troops intercepted the group and engaged them in an intense exchange of fire.
ISPR identified the militants as members of “Fitna al Hindustan,” a term the state uses for Balochistan-based terrorist groups it says operate with Indian support. Security forces also destroyed four vehicles and multiple improvised explosive devices during the operation.
The military said several other terrorists were injured in the exchange. ISPR said sanitisation operations were underway to clear any remaining threat from the area.

The Basima operation followed recent actions in Balochistan, including the killing of six terrorists in Panjgur on June 5 and 17 others in late May.
