A 22-year-old married woman suffered burns as three people, including her alleged rapist, threw acid on her on Multan Road in Lahore on Tuesday.
The victim, a resident of Mandi Stop, was admitted to Jinnah Hospital.
Sadar SP Awais Malik said the woman was standing at Mandi Stop when the suspects threw acid on her and fled from the scene. The SP said the victim had identified the suspects, saying one of them had also raped her some time ago.
The Hanjarwal police had earlier registered a rape case against the identified suspect on the woman’s complaint.
Rescue 1122 sources said two men and a woman approached the woman on a motorcycle and threw acid on her. She suffered burn injuries on her arms and leg, luckily her face remained unhurt.
