MILAN: Stellantis has reported that a shortage of an electronic component used in engine control units is significantly disrupting Fiat vehicle production in Italy.
Announced on Monday, the supply shortage stems from an external vendor and affected October sales, particularly of the best-selling Fiat Panda.
Stellantis said teams are working with high priority to identify alternative solutions and restore normal operations.
The disruption could prompt further production halts through November and December at the Pomigliano plant, where the Pandina is built, and at the Mirafiori facility, which produces the Fiat 500. Engine component operations at Termoli are also at risk.

Meanwhile, Mirafiori remains under a three-week production pause that began in mid-October due to a separate component shortage, with labour unions pointing to weak demand for the Fiat 500.
