The final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) – 2017 will be held in Lahore.
The Punjab government has given the green signal following a high-level security meeting in Lahore.
Pakistan Cricket Board will officially make the announcement.
Despite the doubts whether the PCB would hold the PSL final in Lahore on March 5 following the February 13 suicide bombing in which 13 people were killed.
However, in a meeting held last week between the PSL management and the five franchise owners in Dubai, it was decided that the final of the tournament would be held in Lahore as per schedule.
With the holding of the PSL final in Lahore, international cricket returns to Pakistan. Pakistan have not hosted any international cricket tournament since the terror attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore in 2009,when six Pakistani Policemen were killed and some of the visiting players were injured.
Pakistan Super League (PSL) Chairman Najam Sethi while talking to media said that revealed eight international security experts including those from ICC will be there to watch the PSL final and monitor the security situation in Pakistan.
He added that the tickets for viewing the final in Lahore will be available from tomorrow.
“Pakistan has suffered a lot after being deprived of international cricket for about eight years,” said Sethi.
PSL chairman revealed that the teams qualifying for the final will have to go with four foreign players and the board will ask the foreign players who are part of those teams if they wish to play the final in Lahore or not.
