The State Bank of Pakistan released the latest statistics for Roshan Digital Accounts as of March 2024.
In March 2024, 11,091 new accounts were opened, an increase of 679,792 since the program’s launch in September 2020. Over the 44 months since its inception, the initiative has seen an average monthly opening of 15,450 accounts.
As of March 2024, Roshan Digital Accounts have received total deposits of $7.66 billion. Notably, 83% of these funds have been utilized domestically or withdrawn by account holders. The net inflow into these accounts currently stands at $1.28 billion.
In terms of recent activity, overseas Pakistanis contributed $182 million to their Roshan Digital Accounts in March 2024. Out of this amount, $17 million was withdrawn, and $135 million was spent within the local economy.
