National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkha (KPK) Tuesday arrested Syed Masoom Shah, special assistant to former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti, on the allegation of corrupt practices and accumulation of assets beyond known sources of income worth millions of rupees.
As per details, the accused remained public office holder during 2001 to 2005 as Tehsil Nazim Shabqadar and as Special Assistant to Ex-CM during 2010 to 2013.
According to a press release issued here, the Ex-CM was the portfolio-holder of C&W and Public Health Engineering Department.
During the course of inquiry it was revealed that the accused gained illegal money which does not match to his legal sources of income which includes a house and Hujra on 12 Kanal land in his village Battagram District, precious two plots in Hayatabad, two plots in Regi Model Town, two plots in DHA Karachi, a precious house at Tulip Road Bahria Town Rawalpindi, 1 kanal house in Zaryab Colony Peshawar, 3 kanal precious land in tehkal bala Peshawar, 1 Kanal land in Warsak Road Peshawar.
Furthermore, the accused Syed Masoom Shah possessed huge bank balance in local and Foreign Bank Accounts and owned precious vehicles.
The accused and his family members frequently visited UAE and spent millions of rupees.
The accused will be produced before the Accountability Court of Peshawar for obtaining his physical remand. (APP)
