Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam – Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has demanded that the government should clear Islamabad of the protesters marching on the capital.
Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, addressing the joint session of the Parliament in Islamabad on Tuesday, said that the session is called in view of the current political situation in the country. He said that he is proud that all Parliaments are fulfilling their responsibility which will become a key chapter in Pakistan’s history.
He added that conspiracies were being made to derail the democracy in Pakistan but they have been foiled.
Fazl said that certain forces want to take advantage of the ongoing situation in the country. Hinting at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Fazl said that the leadership of a party tried to overthrow democracy.
“They tried to change the system on the basis of just four seats”, Fazl said.
He stressed that nor will the PM resign nor will he go on vacation.
“What is the meaning of PM resigning and going on leave? No one can force the prime minister resign”, he said.
JUI-F leader said that no television channel, even Pakistan Television (PTV), covered their rally which had more than one lac people.
“When the military arrived at the building of PTV and the protesters started chanting slogans in favor of the army. Are they sending a message to the world that police belongs to a state while the military belongs to the other? These elements are pushing the country towards destruction”, he said.
