A Chinese national was shot dead in a suspected targeted attack in Zamzama Karachi’s on Monday.
According to DIG South Azad Khan the incident appeared to be targeted attack.
DIG South confirmed that security was provided to the Chinese national, however, he was not accompanied by his security detail at the time of the attack.
DIG South also said that the foreigner was accompanied by his a Chinese friend at the time of the attack. The two were returning from lunch and had stopped at a vegetable shop when the attack occurred.
The injured Chinese was rushed to Jinnah hospital where he died during treatment.
According to Dr. Seemi Jamali, the head of emergency department, the victim had received a single bullet on his head which proved fatal.
Police took the second foreign national into protective custody after the incident.
