TAIZ: Reports said seven people were killed and 40 wounded in an airstrike near Mawiya junction in Yemen’s Taiz province, but the target and casualty figures remained unverified.
At least five children were reported among the wounded. Accounts cited by Euronews said the strike hit shops at a market near the junction.
Yemeni government forces gave a different account. They said military operations targeted a Houthi position and vehicles in the area rather than commercial shops.
Euronews has not independently verified either the casualty figures or the nature of the target. The reported strike occurred during renewed fighting along Yemen’s Red Sea coast.

Houthi forces have been advancing towards the Bab al-Mandab shipping route, while air operations have intensified.
The Houthis said Saudi-led aircraft carried out 27 strikes across six provinces during the previous 24 hours. Saudi Arabia separately said it intercepted two Houthi drones heading towards Riyadh on Saturday.
