X suffered a major outage on Saturday, July 18, leaving thousands of users unable to load feeds, publish posts or connect to the platform, according to Downdetector.
The outage-tracking service recorded about 1,500 user reports after problems began around 3 a.m. Eastern Time. Complaints continued into the afternoon.
Nearly 40% of affected users reported problems with the X mobile app. Another 25% said their feeds would not load fully, while 19% reported server connection failures.
Users who retained partial access complained about application crashes, slow performance, layout errors and failed attempts to publish content.
However, the X Developer Platform status dashboard showed its systems as operational during the disruption. X had not disclosed the cause of the outage or issued a restoration timeline in the information available.

The interruption affected users seeking real-time updates on live events, including severe weather in the New York metropolitan region and the London Diamond League athletics meeting.
