A wire agencies list has mapped global, regional and national news services by continent, country or territory, agency type and official website.
The list identified Dow Jones Newswires as a global financial market wire covering international markets. Dow Jones says its Newswires service provides financial and business news for investors, advisers and financial platforms.
The directory listed Bakhtar News Agency for Afghanistan, Xinhua News Agency for China and Press Trust of India for India.
It also listed Kyodo News Agency for Japan, Kuwait News Agency for Kuwait and Bahrain News Agency for Bahrain.
Australian Associated Press appeared as a national media cooperative in Australia. The Canadian Press was a national media cooperative in Canada.
The grouped agencies across Asia, Europe, Africa, North America, South America and Oceania. Its Asia section included Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan and Kuwait.
European entries included Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland and Italy. African entries included Algeria, Angola, Egypt, Ghana and Kenya.
Deutsche Presse-Agentur appeared as Germany’s national media cooperative. Agenzia Nazionale Stampa Associata appeared as Italy’s national media cooperative.
The list also separated regional wires from national services. MercoPress appeared for Argentina and the Southern Cone, while Prensa Latina appeared as a Cuba-based wire for Latin American regional news. In addition, the distinction helped clarify which outlets served specific countries and which covered wider regional audiences.
The directory grouped media cooperatives, state wires, public wires and commercial wires separately, giving readers a compact way to identify each agency’s region, country, service type and web link.
