Will Ferrell opened the “Saturday Night Live” Season 51 finale by playing the ghost of Jeffrey Epstein in a Trump-focused cold open on May 16.
The sketch used a “Christmas Carol”-style setup. James Austin Johnson played President Donald Trump, who imagined Epstein visiting him in the Oval Office.
Ferrell’s Epstein then showed Trump several visions of the future. Ashley Padilla appeared as Kristi Noem selling vacuums on HSN.
Colin Jost played Pete Hegseth in another vision. Aziz Ansari appeared as FBI Director Kash Patel during the same podcast-style scene.
The cold open also included a fictional future line about the war in Iran. Then the cast closed the sketch with “Just the Two of Us.”

Ferrell hosted the finale with musical guest Paul McCartney. His monologue included a Chad Smith look-alike bit before McCartney joined the joke.
“SNL” ended Season 51 with the May 16 episode. The show will return for Season 52 in the fall.
