WhatsApp Android tablet users in beta can now test a new setup screen that lets them choose between primary-device transfer and companion-device linking, WABetaInfo reported.
The feature is available to a limited group of Android tablet beta testers. The new interface appears when users open WhatsApp on an Android tablet for the first time.
The screen shows a “Choose an option” section with two choices. Users can link the tablet to an existing WhatsApp account as a secondary device.
They can also select “Transfer your account” to make the Android tablet their primary WhatsApp device.
WhatsApp then asks for a country code and phone number to start the transfer process. The user receives a six-digit verification code to confirm identity.
After verification, the tablet becomes the primary device. Users can restore previous conversations from Google Drive on the tablet.

Primary-device users get the same WhatsApp experience as phone users.
It added that the 14-day logout limit does not apply when the Android tablet works as the primary device.
