The Esports World Cup 2024, set to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will not include VALORANT in its lineup due to scheduling conflicts.
James Fudges, an Esports Advocate, stated, “VALORANT was considered for the Esports World Cup; however, the professional players found it hard to attend due to inflexible scheduling from July 4 to August 25.”
The timing of the Esports World Cup clashes with the Valorant Champions Tour 2024 (VCT 2024) schedule.
The first half of the Esports World Cup coincides with the Champions’ regular season and playoffs, and the second half overlaps with the Champions tournament, which concludes on August 25.
The current VCT schedule restricts teams from joining the Esports World Cup. Potential adjustments to the 2025 schedule may enable VALORANT teams to participate.
Riot Games has entered into a one-year contract with the Esports World Cup Foundation and is cautiously considering a more extended partnership.
