Justin Bieber’s latest album, “Swag,” has gained significant attention following its release, making it his first full project since “Justice” in 2021. Producer Cash Cobain, who worked on the album, recently shared insights about the collaborative process of their partnership in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Cobain mentioned that he saw Bieber sharing his track “Trippin on a Yacht” online. This prompted him to send a message to the singer, stating, “We had to make some fire together.” Their exchange led to a meeting in New York, where Bieber invited Cobain to a spacious apartment that had a studio set up in the living room.
Up until recently, Justin Bieber had “never made a great album, not even a very good one,” @braydbay writes. “SWAG,” his seventh studio album, is the first to hover above his noisy celebrity, to make a case for his own specificity.https://t.co/QxUlPrZFx1

“We were chopping it up since then, and then one day, he was in New York and he was like, ‘Yo, pull up on me,’” Cobain explained. Surrounded by musicians and writers, they sat in a circle on couches as a beat played. Bieber vocalised ideas, and Cobain joined in harmonising and mumbling concepts. “We were recording everything,” he added.

Cobain emphasized the freedom of the session: “There wasn’t a process. We were just in there being free and creative. There wasn’t any pressure—none of that.” They reviewed the recordings and selected their favorite tracks from the extended gathering. “I’m glad it’s out. I’m happy he was able to release the album and the song,” Cobain concluded.
