The United States Wednesday voiced support for the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s government, saying it would not endorse any unconstitutional steps.
In a daily briefing at the State Department, Deputy Spokesperson Marie Harf said “the United States supports support the constitutional and electoral process in Pakistan, which produced the Prime Minister of Nawaz Sharif”.
“And we do not support any extra-constitutional changes to that democratic system or people attempting to impose them,” she asserted in response to a question whether the US supports any change in regime in Pakistan.
