City Traffic Police have banned unregistered Qingqi rickshaws and loaders from entering model roads, including Canal Road, with immediate effect.
Officials said the action was taken to protect citizens’ lives and property and keep traffic moving smoothly. The ban applies to vehicles without registration or number plates.
According to an awareness campaign issued by the Traffic Police, unregistered and unnumbered loaders and Qingqi rickshaws will no longer be allowed on model roads.
The statement said the measure aims to improve public safety, maintain traffic discipline and reduce road accidents.
Traffic officials said unregistered vehicles create congestion and make it harder to identify responsible people after crimes or accidents.
