South African singer Tyla spent $1,818.22 on sneakers during a shopping trip with Complex host Joe La Puma in New York, while her distinctive outfit also drew attention online.
Tyla appeared in gray sweatpants, white sneakers and a small white bandeau top during the Complex visit. The rectangular design created an optical illusion from some angles, prompting social media users to compare it with a censorship bar.
The singer also discussed her preferred footwear during the shopping session. She said the Nike P-6000 was among her favourite choices for rehearsals, where dancing and choreography are central to her routine.

The appearance came weeks after Tyla released her second studio album, “A*POP,” on July 24, 2026.

The singer rose to international prominence with “Water,” which charted globally and earned her a Grammy in 2024. Her music, performances and fashion choices have since remained prominent parts of her public profile.
