YALOVA, Türkiye: A Türkiye F-16 crash during a training flight ended with the pilot ejecting safely Wednesday in the country’s northwest, the Ankara-based National Defence Ministry said. No other injuries were reported.
Yalova Governor Ahmet Hamdi Usta said the jet came down at about 3 p.m. local time, beside the 18th Main Base Command in Çiftlikköy.
Usta said the pilot went to hospital as a precaution. No civilian or military personnel suffered injuries. The crash caused no property loss, he said in remarks published by Anadolu Agency.
The aircraft had taken off from Eskişehir for a training mission, according to the governor. He said it was a single-aircraft accident and did not involve a collision.

Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority, National Medical Rescue Team and firefighters responded, TRT Haber reported. Crews secured the wreckage without a fire spreading to the surrounding area.

The Defence Ministry said an investigation team would determine the cause after a detailed examination. Officials had not announced a preliminary cause.
