Polling stations across Turkey opened today morning in the country´s first-ever direct presidential election that is expected see Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan sweep to victory as head of state.
Around 53 million voters are in the process of casting their ballots at more than 165,000 polling stations, pitting Erdogan against two relatively unknown challengers.
