Beijing, China: President Donald Trump of the United States said his patience with Iran was running out after talks with President Xi Jinping of China on Thursday.

Trump told Fox News’ “Hannity” that Iran “should make a deal.” The White House said Trump and Xi agreed to keep the Strait of Hormuz open.

Iran had effectively shut the waterway after US-Israeli attacks began on February 28, disrupting global energy supplies, according to Reuters-based source material.

US President Donald Trump said his patience with Iran is running out and he had agreed in talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping that the Islamic republic cannot be allowed to have a nuclear weapon and must re-open the Strait of Hormuz.

The source said Xi promised not to send military equipment to Iran. The White House also said both leaders agreed Iran should never obtain nuclear weapons.

Fresh maritime incidents added pressure. India said Oman rescued 14 crew members after an Indian livestock vessel sank off Oman. UKMTO reported a ship boarded near Fujairah, UAE
