President Donald Trump officially launched the “Trump Gold Card” program on Wednesday. This initiative creates an expedited path to a US Green Card. Foreign nationals may qualify through significant financial contributions. The program requires a $15,000 processing fee and a $1 million “gift” to the US Treasury.
An official website, TrumpCard.gov, is now active for the program. President Trump initially announced the policy in February 2025. He later formalised it through an executive order on September 19, 2025. The Gold Card is not a new visa category itself.

Instead, it serves as an expedited application route within existing immigration law. Applicants use the financial gift as evidence of substantial benefit to the United States. An individual must contribute $1 million. A sponsoring corporation must contribute $2 million for an applicant.
This evidence makes applicants eligible for specific employment-based visas. They can apply for the EB-1 visa (for extraordinary ability). They can also apply for an EB-2 visa with a National Interest Waiver. The application process involves several sequential steps.

It also includes significant additional fees for family members. The official website lists these key costs and procedures. The program also previews a more exclusive “Trump Platinum Card.” This tier is labelled “coming soon” on the government site.
The Platinum Card requires a $15,000 processing fee. It also demands a $5 million contribution to the US Treasury. This card grants a special immigration status. Holders can spend up to 270 days per year in the United States.
