President Donald Trump said he may hold a Trump Freedom 250 rally on the National Mall. The plan follows artist pullouts from the U.S. anniversary concert series.
Trump floated the idea on Truth Social on Saturday. He said the concert series may no longer need musical acts if performers keep backing out.
The president said he ordered his representatives to study an “AMERICA IS BACK Rally.” He also raised the option of giving a speech instead.
Trump described himself as a stronger audience draw than the booked performers. He said he gets larger crowds than Elvis Presley did in his prime.
Freedom 250 is a public-private partnership linked to the White House. It coordinates events for the 250th anniversary of the United States with federal agencies.
