The United Goods Transport Alliance (UGTA) has threatened to go on strike if the Punjab government does not immediately release their detained vehicles being used as barricades throughout the province.
UGTA Chairman Ghulam Yasin Khan Niazi told the media that around 4,500 to 5,000 vehicles have been detained by the Punjab police ahead of the August 14 rallies and marches announced by Tahir-ul-Qadri and Imran Khan.
He informed that many vehicles loaded with import and export goods have also been detained dealing a serious blow to trade and business activities.
