A tragic incident occurred in Sharjah where a 7-year-old boy died after being left in a car by an unlicensed driver, Sharjah Police reported.
The Khaleej Times disclosed that authorities were alerted to the incident on Tuesday afternoon. The child, of Asian nationality, had been forgotten in a vehicle parked outside his school since the morning.
His parents had hired a female driver to take their son to and from school. On the day of the incident, after arriving at school, all passengers except the boy disembarked. Unaware of the boy’s presence, the driver locked the car and left the scene with her husband.
By the time the school day ended and it was time to head home, the boy was discovered deceased in the vehicle.
In light of this tragedy, authorities have warned about the risks of employing unlicensed drivers for school transport.
Parents are strongly encouraged to use official school buses equipped with essential safety features and regularly monitored by relevant authorities. Alternatively, they suggest that parents personally drive their children to ensure their utmost care and safety.
