After Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s visit, the Karachi administration has implemented road closures for security. Major routes such as Sharea Faisal feature banners welcoming Raisi, placed by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Several key roads, including MA Jinnah Road and the path to Numaish from Shahra-e-Quaideen, are closed, and containers block access. Additionally, areas around the People’s Secretariat are restricted.

Police forces are stationed at multiple locations, and road closures will affect Sharea Faisal, Sharea Quaideen, and Dr Ziauddin Road from 3 pm to 5 pm today, as announced by Karachi Traffic Police.

Officials advise using alternative routes to circumvent closed sections of Sharea Faisal, MA Jinnah Road, and other affected areas. The traffic helpline 1915 is available for assistance.

Alternative routes include:

  • From Defence-Clifton to the airport: Take the Qayyumabad Bridge towards Korangi Industrial Area, continuing to Quaidabad via Singer and Murtaza Chowrangi, then to the airport via Malir Halt.
  • From II Chundrigarh Road, Tower, and Keamari to the airport: Use Mauripur Road, Lyari Expressway, and Super Highway, passing Malir Cantt No 6 Check Post.
  • From the airport to the Central and West districts and Saddar: Exit left to Model Colony cemetery, then Jinnah Avenue via Gate No 6.
  • To Jinnah Hospital and NICVD from Korangi: Use Qayyumabad Flyover, Chaudhry Khaliq-Uz-zaman Road, and proceed to Cantt Station via Lily Bridge.
  • From Central and West districts to Jinnah Hospital and Cantt Station: Take left at Mauripur, navigate through Queen’s Road, Mai Kolachi Road, Boat Basin, Submarine Underpass, and Delhi Colony.
  • To Naumaish from Guru Mandir: Divert at Business Recorder Road, Lasbela Chowk to Nishtar Road, then left at Ramswamy towards Civil Hospital and Tower.
  • To Jama Cloth: Route from Eidgah Chowk to Garden Chowk, left through Aga Khan-III Road, passing Makki Masjid and the zoo.
