Actor Tom Holland said his Spider-Man successor talk should include “Adolescence” star Owen Cooper, calling the 16-year-old actor “super-talented.”
Holland named Cooper in an Esquire interview published June 16. He said Cooper was “the talk of the town right now.”
Cooper rose to wider attention through Netflix’s limited series “Adolescence.” He became the youngest Emmy winner for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.
Cooper previously told Variety in 2025 that Spider-Man would be a dream role. However, he said he would not want to take it for another “10-15 years” until Holland stepped back.
Holland has not announced an exit from the role. Marvel lists him as the star of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and set for release on July 31, 2026.

Holland also said he would like to help set up the next Spider-Man era. He compared that role to the support Robert Downey Jr. gave him in his first Marvel films.
The actor said the next chapter could involve Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, Spider-Woman or another version of the character.
