Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson provided a memorable moment at the Saturday Night Live (SNL) 50th Anniversary special by humorously “storming out” of the event hosted by Jimmy Fallon at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
Fallon informed the audience that no awards would be presented during the event, saying, “Apparently, there’s been some confusion. This is just a concert. We’re not giving out any awards tonight.”
In response, Hanks and Wilson pretended to leave their seats, heading toward the back of the auditorium, with Wilson playfully wagging her finger at the camera. Fallon humorously played along, saying, “We lost Tom Hanks and Rita. Sorry. It wasn’t their fault.” The comedic skit quickly gained attention on social media, with clips of the playful exit going viral.
A beloved SNL figure, Hanks has hosted the show 10 times, earning his spot in the exclusive Five-Timers Club alongside comedy legends like Bill Murray, Drew Barrymore, and Melissa McCarthy.
The SNL 50th Anniversary special gathered an all-star lineup featuring SNL legends such as Amy Poehler, Eddie Murphy, Kristen Wiig, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, and Maya Rudolph. Past guest hosts, including Miley Cyrus, Paul McCartney, Kim Kardashian, and Pedro Pascal, also appeared, adding to the evening’s nostalgic atmosphere.
