The paramilitary Sindh Rangers have presented three accused before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) of Justice Farooq Shah in Karachi earlier yesterday and secured a 90-day remand of all three accused.

Speaking to journalists outside the ATC, Rangers’ Colonel Shahid identified the three accused who belong to a political party, as Fahim, Riaz and Nasir and revealed that the three are accused of training with the Indian intelligence agency ‘Research and Analysis Wing’ more commonly known as RAW.

Colonel Shahid claimed the three accused travelled to India secretly in 1994 where RAW agents trained them on how to use small and medium weapons as well as rocket launchers. The colonel added that they were also trained in making multiple types of bombs including time delay devices and other variants.

The Rangers colonel claimed the accused have confessed to their involvement in multiple bomb attacks across Karachi. The colonel listed some of the attacks the accused were involved in dating as far back as 2008 when they hurled grenades on Tariq Road. The accused have also confessed to their involvement in the attacks on the Sindh Secretariat and the Sindh Police’s Garden Headquarters.

The accused have confessed to a dozen target killings as well as involvement in ‘china cutting’ of real estate properties, the colonel told journalists adding, Nasir alone was involved in four target killings.
