Health department has launched a three-day campaign on Monday to administer polio drops to more than 800,000 children below age of 5 in 185 union councils of the city.
Teams comprising 1800 people including lady health workers, teachers, police, civil defense and members of other government departments have been formed for the vaccination drive.
Earlier, six new polio cases were reported in Pakistan’s Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Four polio cases were reported from FATA and one each from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan by the polio virology laboratory at the national institute of health.
