Speaking to the media, Sarang alleged that influential people from a nearby village were involved in the attack. He said the suspects had also threatened his family.
The family said they belonged to a poor household and feared pressure from the accused. They said this made it difficult for them to pursue the case without official support.
The protesters urged senior government officials and law enforcement authorities to conduct a transparent investigation. They also demanded action against those responsible and protection for the affected family.
