Controversial rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, also known as Daniel Hernandez, finds himself again embroiled in legal troubles. This time, it’s due to a recent altercation in the Dominican Republic. After a brief stint in a local jail, the rapper is now out on bail, with conditions tethering him to the Caribbean nation for an extended period.
Freedom Comes with Conditions
After turning himself in on charges related to an assault on his girlfriend Yailin La Mas Viral’s music producers, 6ix9ine walked free from the Dominican jail. His freedom, however, cost him a $10,000 bail and came with strict caveats. Over the next six months, he must remain within the country’s confines, attend regular evaluation sessions, and undergo therapy to curb his aggressive tendencies.
But freedom doesn’t spell the end of 6ix9ine’s problems. The aggrieved parties, nursing physical and professional wounds, demand a hefty $10 million in damages. This amount, they assert, is essential for personal reparations and to cover the extensive loss of production equipment during the rapper’s violent outburst.
A History Speckled with Legal Woes
The idea of compensating the victims does not sit well with 6ix9ine. According to ‘Despierta America,’ he preferred incarceration over parting with an astronomical sum of money. This recent scuffle adds to the rapper’s notorious history with the law.
His past is tarnished with serious charges, including a conviction for a sexual assault case involving a minor, various counts of violence, weapon possession, drug offences, and extortion. With each legal encounter, 6ix9ine’s career and personal life plunge further into tumult, questioning his future in the music industry and society.
