Taylor Swift swiftly corrected Donald Trump‘s claim that she and her fans supported his 2024 presidential bid. Trump posted AI-generated images on Truth Social featuring women in “Swifties For Trump” shirts and a manipulated poster of Swift dressed as Uncle Sam. His caption confidently read, “I accept.”
However, Swift has not endorsed any candidate for the upcoming election, and sources close to her confirm she does not support Trump. An insider stated, “She didn’t back him before, and she’s certainly not starting now. It’s like he’s lost touch with reality.”
While Trump’s post included an image of a genuine 19-year-old fan in a “Swifties for Trump” shirt at a Wisconsin rally, it doesn’t reflect a significant movement. Trump also shared a video claiming that Swifties were “waking up” after a failed terror plot cancelled part of Swift’s tour in Austria. The legitimacy of this video remains questionable.
Swift, a known supporter of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris since the 2020 elections, has been politically vocal since the 2018 midterms. She has advocated for LGBTQ rights and women’s rights and publicly opposed Trump in the 2020 election. Rumours suggest Swift might even appear at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
Despite Trump’s confusion over Swift’s political stances, as revealed in his discussions in the book Apprentice in Wonderland, Swift continues to align herself with liberal causes, challenging the former president’s narrative.
