Farhat Shahzadi, known as Farah Gogi and closely linked with former Prime Minister Imran Khan and former First Lady Bushra Bibi, has seen a notable increase in her wealth from 2017 to 2020.

Farah’s declared assets reached Rs950 million in 2020, with undisclosed assets soaring to Rs3.82 billion. The period marked a 420% increase in her visible assets and a dramatic 15,300% rise in undisclosed assets. These assets are distinct from those of her husband, Ahsan Jamil Gujjar, and other relatives.

Farah’s involvement in several companies, as per SECP records, includes Gousiya Builders, Al Baraq Housing, and Al Baraq Foods. A significant accusation involves her receiving 240 kanals of land as an alleged bribe from a property tycoon in return for the PTI government’s leniency in a substantial case. She is also accused of benefiting from a tax amnesty scheme introduced by the PTI government, which purportedly helped legalize over Rs489 million in “black money.”

Additional allegations include money laundering and international involvement, with Farah and her husband allegedly acting as directors at Gold Star Euro Private Limited under false pretences. Investigations have traced 102 bank accounts linked to Farah and her associates, with substantial deposits and transactions.

PML-N Leader’s Accusations and Political Implications

PML-N leader Attaullah Tarar has accused Farah and her husband of playing crucial roles in the PTI government’s operations, specifically regarding their alleged involvement in fixing rates for contracts and transfers. He accused Imran Khan of implementing the tax amnesty scheme to legitimize Farah’s illegal earnings. Tarar also implicated Farah in appointing Usman Buzdar as Punjab chief minister, suggesting she played a key role in his administration.

Tarar calls for legal action against key figures involved as political tensions rise, including Bushra Bibi. He emphasizes the need for accountability, especially in light of the no-confidence vote against Imran Khan and the subsequent departure of Farah and her husband from the country.
