Supreme Court Bars Justice Babar Sattar from Hearing Audio Leaks Case

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has issued a directive preventing Islamabad High Court Justice Babar Sattar from handling matters related to the audio leaks. The court asserts that the Islamabad High Court lacks the jurisdiction to take suo motu notices.

The Supreme Court decided after evaluating the Islamabad High Court’s actions regarding the audio leaks, which it determined had exceeded the court’s legal boundaries. The orders dated May 29 and June 25, which issued directives on handling audio leaks, now fall outside the lower court’s jurisdiction by Supreme Court ruling.

Moreover, the Supreme Court lifted a previous order that prohibited Justice Babar Sattar from engaging in illegal surveillance related to the audio leaks case. This action effectively frees Justice Sattar from the previous restrictions, enabling him to continue his judicial duties without the earlier limitations.
