Philanthropist and Chairman Habib Bank (HBL) Sultan Ali Allana was honoured with the prestigious Nishan-e-Khidmat, one of Pakistan’s highest civilian awards, during a special investiture ceremony on Pakistan Day.
The award, approved by President Asif Ali Zardari on August 14, 2024, recognizes Allana’s exceptional contributions to public service and his transformative impact on Pakistan’s financial and social sectors.
With a career spanning over 40 years, Sultan Ali Allana has been a trailblazer in the banking industry. He founded the First Microfinance Bank in 2002, pioneering financial inclusion and empowering underserved communities. His visionary leadership was pivotal in repositioning Pakistan’s financial system to meet international standards, contributing significantly to the country’s removal from the FATF grey list.
